*New Restorative Yoga Class on Monday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 pm starting January 6 with Mary Leffler and JoRoyce Robinson. Restorative yoga is a practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. During the long holds your muscles are allowed to relax deeply. Props, rather than your muscles, are used to support your body. This class is very mellow and a great compliment to more active practices and an excellent antidote to stress. *Mindfulness and Meditation Book Study with Randi Weiss Thursdays, January 16 – February 20 from 8:00 -8:50 am. This 6 week mindfulness series is open to all students who are on a path of exploration and self discovery, through a weekly guided meditation and group discussion inspired by a book study of Mindfulness in Plain English by Bhante Gunaratana. This will be the final opportunity to join Carolyn, Integrative Aromatherapy Certified, for this introductory workshop. New Year, New Opportunities: A Meditation Workshop – with Shiva Tigunait, PhD of Himalayan Institute (Honesdale, PA and Khajuraho, India) Saturday, February 1, 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Tap into your true power to bring healing and transformation in yourself and in the world. Join Shiva Tigunait, PhD, and learn why meditation brings positive change and how to start a meditation practice or deepen an existing one. She will share practical tips on yoga meditation, how to tap into the combined forces of prana shakti and mantra shakti and will conclude with a guided group meditation, giving you an experiential taste of what meditation has to offer. We are honored to host Shiva as she shares details of the Himalayan Institute’s Year Long Meditation initiative.
